EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS:SCHOOL TOUR PROGRAMS - THE MUSEUM OFFERS AGE-APPROPRIATE TOURS AND CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN FROM PRESCHOOL THROUGH GRADE 12. THESE PROGRAMS COMBINE A TOUR OF THE MUSEUM WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN ONE OF FOUR HANDS-ON PROGRAMS THAT ALLOW CHILDREN TO EXPLORE TOPICS RANGING FROM THE ROLE OF CHILDREN IN AMERICA DURING WORLD WAR II, TO TECHNOLOGY AND OTHER ITEMS ESSENTIAL TO LIVING IN SPACE, TO BEING ABLE TO INTERVIEW WORLD WAR II VETERANS AND HEAR THEM TELL THEIR PERSONAL STORIES. VETERAN'S HISTORY PROJECT - WARHAWK AIR MUSEUM, IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, IS VIDEOTAPING AS MANY VETERANS AS POSSIBLE, SO TODAY'S GENERATION, AND FUTURE GENERATIONS, WILL UNDERSTAND WE OWE OUR FREEDOM TO THE BRAVERY AND SACRIFICE OF THOSE WHO SERVED. THE MUSEUM HAS PRESERVED NEARLY 1,275 INTERVIEWS ON FILM.


MUSEUM DISPLAYS:THE MUSEUM'S COLLECTION INCLUDES AIRPLANES, UNIFORMS AND WEAPONS FROM WORLD WARS I AND II, THE KOREAN WAR, THE VIETNAM WAR AND DESERT STORM AS WELL AS ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILES AND PERSONAL ITEMS USED IN DAILY AMERICAN LIFE DURING WARTIME. THE MUSEUM HOUSES PERSONAL COLLECTIONS OF PHOTOGRAPHS, LETTERS, DIARIES, CLOTHING, TOYS, MEDALS AND OTHER RARE AND UNUSUAL MEMENTOS FROM THE WARS. THE MUSEUM ALSO HOSTS FLY-INS OF P-40S AND OTHER ANTIQUE MILITARY AIRCRAFT. THESE COLLECTIONS AND EVENTS BROUGHT OVER 26,000 VISITORS TO THE MUSEUM IN 2021 AND OVER 19,000 VOLUNTEER HOURS WERE PROVIDED DURING THE YEAR. THE MUSEUM IS OPEN SIX DAYS PER WEEK ALL YEAR LONG.
