TO ENGAGE AND EDUCATE PEOPLE OF ALL GENERATIONS IN TRADITIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY MARITIME LIFE, IN A SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE AND DISCOVERY. WE'RE MANY THINGS, AND AT OUR CORE WE ARE A CAMPUS THAT USES POWERFUL MARITIME EXPERIENCES TO EDUCATE, INSPIRE PEOPLE TO ADVENTURE, AND CELEBRATE OUR MARITIME CULTURE. WE DO IT FOR OUR OWN LOVE OF BOATS, IN SERVICE TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND MARITIME INDUSTRY, BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE REGARDLESS OF THE SUBJECT, THE SEA IS THE MOST POWERFUL TEACHER WE KNOW.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS: NWMC PROVIDES EXPERIENTIAL ON THE WATER PROGRAMS TO YOUTH AND ADULTS WITH THE GOAL OF ENABLING PARTICIPANTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT AND CELEBRATE OUR MARITIME HERITAGE AND NATURAL RESOURCES. OUR YOUTH PROGRAMS FOCUS ON CHARACTER BUILDING THROUGH LEADERSHIP AND TEAMWORK TRAINING AND ON DEVELOPING MARITIME-RELATED SKILLS THROUGH MENTORSHIP. OUR BOAT SHOP FOCUSES ON TRADITIONAL SKILLS AND UP TO DATE CRAFTSMANSHIP THROUGH BUILD YOUR OWN BOAT CLASSES AND APPRENTICESHIPS.


OUR WOODEN BOAT CHANDLERY MARKETS PRODUCTS THAT PROMOTE AND PRESERVE OUR TRADITIONAL MARITIME HERITAGE AND ENHANCES OUR LOCAL MARITIME TRADES.


EDUCATIONAL AND COMMUNITY FACILITY USAGE INCLUDING BOATHOUSE WITH CLASSIC "LEGACY" VESSELS AND PROGRAM FLEET THAT ENABLE PARTICIPANTS TO LEARN AND ENJOY TRADITIONAL BOATING SKILLS, MARITIME CIRCULATING LIBRARY, SYMPOSIUMS EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS AND PUBLIC EVENTS.
