TO CONNECT GENERATIONS BY PRESERVING AND INTERPRETING THE HISTORY OF THE MID-WILLAMETTE VALLEY. THE WHC COLLECTS, CARES FOR, INTERPRETS, SHOWCASES, AND PROMOTES UNDERSTANDING OF AN EDUCATION ABOUT THE HISTORY OF THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY REGION, INCLUDING MARION COUNTY AND THE GREATER SALEM AREA. THE WHC IS ANCHORED BY THE HISTORIC EARLY SETTLEMENT BUILDINGS, THE THOMAS KAY WOOLEN MILL AND ITS ARCHIVAL AND LIBRARY HOLDINGS.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

IN 2021, THE WILLAMETTE HERITAGE CENTER OFFERED COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND OUT-OF-TOWN VISITORS A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES TO DISCOVER, ENGAGE, AND MAKE HISTORY. THESE OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDED: PERMANENT AND CHANGING EXHIBIT SPACES, A RESEARCH LIBRARY AND ARCHIVE, A TEXTILE LEARNING CENTER, RENTABLE EVENT SPACES, EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL AGES, AND SPECIAL EVENTS. IN ADDITION TO THE 5 1/2-ACRE CAMPUS AND FOURTEEN HISTORIC BUILDINGS ON SITE, WHC IS ALSO HOME TO A RESTAURANT, RETAIL SPACES, COOPERATIVE ARTIST STUDIOS, AND BUSINESS OFFICES FOR OUR PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS.


FACILITY RENTALS - THREE HISTORICAL MEETING VENUES, A SMALL CHURCH AND THE GROUNDS ARE AVAILABLE.
