THE MUSEUM IS LOCATED IN SOUTHERN COLORADO AND SERVES APPROXIMATELY 46,000 RESIDENTS OF THE SAN LUIS VALLEY. TWO LARGE PRIVATE COLLECTIONS HAVE BEEN PROMISED TO THE MUSEUM. THE MUSEUM ACQUIRED BY DONATION IN 2005 A BUILDING WHICH WILL BE LARGE ENOUGH TO HOUSE THE COLLECTIONS AND PROVIDE SPACE FOR PROGRAMMING AND EXPANDED EXHIBITS. THIS WILL PROVIDE SAN LUIS VALLEY CITIZENS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN OF THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL HISTORY OF THE AREA. DURING THE YEAR THERE WAS 4 HOURS PER WEEK DONATED FOR ORGANIZING MUSEUM PIECES AND 25 HOURS FOR THE YEAR OF ATTORNEY HOURS DONATED.
