THE COLORADO AUTO THEFT INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION(CATI)IS DEDICATED TO THE PREVENTION AND INVESTIGATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS AND RELATED CRIMES IN COLORADO AND THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REGION, AND DOES SO BY PROVIDING INVESTIGATIVE TRAINING AND PROMOTING INTERAGENCY COMMUNICATION.

CATI CO-SPONSORED THE 69TH IAATI INTERNATIONAL VEHICLE CRIMES TRAINING SEMINAR. CATI CO-SPONSORED THE SEMINAR WITH THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AUTO THEFT INVESTIGATORS. THE SEMINAR WAS HELD FROM 8/08/2021-8/13/2021 IN BROOMFIELD, CO. THERE WERE 397 TOTAL ATTENDEES FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF THE USA, AS WELL AS MEXICO AND CANADA. CATI PROVIDED 195 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE SEMINAR AT A COST OF $82,875, PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $433,035 FOR SEMINAR FACILITIES, INSTRUCTORS, TRAVEL, AND OTHER VARIOUS SEMINAR EXPENSES. THE SEMINAR PROVIDED TRAINING AS FOLLOWS: VIN INSPECTION CERTIFICATION, FUNDAMENTALS OF BODY LANGUAGE, HUMAN PERFORMANCE, UK VEHICLE SECURITY SOLUTIONS, LEADERSHIP TRACK FOR AUTO THEFT SUPERVISORS, BASIC AUTO THEFT INVESTIGATION, VIN RECONSTRUCTION, MEXICAN CARTELS, DIGITAL INTELLIGENCE, INTERPOL PROGRAMS, INFOTAINMENT SYSTEMS, CARFAX FOR INVESTIGATIONS, US VEHICLE SECURITY UPDATES, INTERVIEW & INTERROGATION TECHNIQUES, CASE STUDIES & PANEL DISCUSSIONS.


CATI SPONSORED VARIOUS AUTO THEFT INVESTIGATION RELATED TRAINING CLASSES AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS AND DATES DURING THE FISCAL YEAR. CATI PROVIDED 235 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INVESTIGATORS TO ATTEND THESE TRAINING CLASSES. THE CLASSES INCLUDED (4) CERTIFIED VIN CLASSES, (5) BASIC AUTO THEFT INVESTIGATION CLASSES, (2) ROLLING SURVEILLANCE 1 CLASSES AND (1) ROLLING SURVEILLANCE 2 CLASS.


CATI SPONSORED THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN VEHICLE CRIMES ONE-DAY SYMPOSIUM ON 4/5/2022. THE SYMPOSIUM WAS HELD IN ENGLEWOOD, CO. CATI PROVIDED 70 ATTENDEE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR THE SYMPOSIUM. THE TRAINING AT THE SYMPOSIUM INCLUDED COLORADO BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION UPDATES, COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE UPDATES, INVESTIGATIVE SOFTWARE UPDATES AND CASE STUDIES.
