THE ASSOCIATION OF PERFORMING ARTS PROFESSIONALS DEVELOPS AND SUPPORT A ROBUST PERFORMING ARTS PRESENTING FIELD AND THE PROFESSIONALS WHO WORK IN IT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
RE-GRANTING PROGRAM - GRANTS OF UP TO $2,000 FOR INDIVIDUALS AND $10,000 FOR GROUPS ARE PROVIDED THROUGH OUR INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL EXCHANGE TRAVEL GRANTS. THESE GRANTS ARE AWARDED TO ARTISTS, PRESENTING PROFESSIONALS AND ARTIST MANAGERS/AGENTS TO TRAVEL INTERNATIONALLY TO SEE WORKS, MEET WITH ARTISTS AND ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE IMPORT AND EXPORT OF ARTISTIC WORKS. IN 2020, IN THE WAKE OF THE GLOBAL PANDEMIC, TRAVEL AWARDS WERE CONVERTED TO GENERAL OPERATING GRANTS TO AWARDEES WITH THE PERMISSION AND APPROVAL OF THE ANDREW W. MELLON FOUNDATION.
MEMBERS CONFERENCE - MORE THAN 3,600 PERFORMING ARTS PROFESSIONALS ATTEND THE CONFERENCE. ACTIVITIES INCLUDE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, ROUND TABLE DISCUSSIONS, PRESENTATIONS, ARTIST SHOWCASES, AND EXHIBITIONS.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT INCLUDES LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS FOR EMERGING AND MID-CAREER ARTS PROFESSIONALS, FOCUSED ARTIST INSTITUTES, THE DEVELOPMENT AND PRESENTATION OF YEAR-ROUND WORKSHOPS, INTENSIVES AND WEBINARS ON TOPICS AND ISSUES IMPACTING THE FIELD, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS PROGRAMMED AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE, AND THE SHARING OF RESOURCES AND INFORMATION THROUGH ONLINE TOOLS AND NETWORKS.
