ADVANCING LEADERSHIP, DESIGN, AND SERVICE AMONG ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS. EMPOWERING VOICES, IDEAS, AND ACTIONS FOR THE FUTURE. THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS (AIAS) IS AN INDEPENDENT, NONPROFIT, STUDENT-RUN ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO PROVIDING UNMATCHED PROGRESSIVE PROGRAMS, INFORMATION, AND RESOURCES ON ISSUES CRITICAL TO ARCHITECTURE AND THE EXPERIENCE OF EDUCATION. THE AIAS AIMS TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE IN ARCHITECTURAL EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PRACTICE; TO FOSTER AN APPRECIATION OF ARCHITECTURE AND RELATED DISCIPLINES; TO ENRICH COMMUNITIES IN A SPIRIT OF COLLABORATION; AND TO ORGANIZE STUDENTS AND COMBINE THEIR EFFORTS TO ADVANCE THE ART AND SCIENCE OF ARCHITECTURE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

AIAS FORUM- AIAS FORUM IS AN ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOCUSED ON PROVIDING RELEVANT CONTENT TO COLLEGE ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS OVER A FOUR DAY PERIOD OVER THE NEW YEAR'S HOLIDAY, INCLUDING KEYNOTE SPEAKERS, EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS, ARCHITECTURAL TOURS, OFFICE TOURS, WORKSHOPS, NETWORKING EVENTS, SOCIAL EVENTS, BUSINESS SESSIONS, AND ELECTIONS.


FREEDOM BY DESIGN-FREEDOM BY DESIGN ENCOURAGES STUDENTS TO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES BY ADDRESSING ISSUES WITH DESIGN SOLUTIONS RELATED TO PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL,ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIO-ECONOMIC, AND CULTURAL BARRIERS. THE PROGRAM PROVIDES REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE THROUGH WORKING WITH CLIENTS, LEARNING FROM LOCAL LICENSED ARCHITECTS AND CONTRACTORS, AND EXPERIENCING THE PRACTICAL IMPACTS OF ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN.


AIAS GRASSROOTS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE-THE AIAS PREPARES FUTURE LEADERS IN ARCHITECTURE THROUGH THE AIAS GRASSROOTS LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE. EACH YEAR THE CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER CHAPTER LEADERS, AIAS FREEDOM BY DESIGN PROGRAM LEADERS, AND OTHER EMERGING PROFESSIONALS SEEKING INSIGHT AND PREPARATION ON HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR YEAR AHEAD. IT IS HELD ANNUALLY IN THE SUMMER.


IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE PROGRAMS, THE REMAINING ORGANIZATIONAL REVENUE IS SOURCED FROM MEMBERSHIP DUES, CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP, CRIT LIVE, CRIT JOURNAL, AIA CONFERENCE ON ARCHITECTURE, WEBSITE ADS, DESIGN COMPETITIONS, AND ENDOWMENT EARNINGS.
