THE ORINDA ASSOCIATION IS DEDICATED TO MAINTAINING AND IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN ORINDA, PROMOTING AWARENESS AND ENCOURAGING DIALOGUE AMONG ORINDA RESIDENTS ON ISSUES OF IMPORTANCE TO THE COMMUNITY, AND MOBILIIZING VOLUNTEER EFFORTS TO ENHANCE THE BEAUTY, CHARACTER, AND SECURITY OF ORINDA.

ORINDA NEWS: PUBLICATION OF A MONTHLY NEWSPAPER THAT IS DISTRIBUTED FREE OF CHARGE TO 800 ORINDA HOUSEHOLDS AND BUSINESSES THAT PROVIDES INFORMATION ABOUT LOCAL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS, BUSINESSES, AND INDIVIDUALS.


FOURTH OF JULY: ORGANIZATION AND PRESENTATION OF ORINDA'S FOURTH OF JULY PARADE THROUGH THE MAIN STREETS OF ORINDA AND THE CELEBRATION AT THE ORINDA COMMUNITY CENTER. THIS PROVIDES RESIDENTS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO COME TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY TO MARCH IN THE PARADE OR WATCH AS IT GOES BY. POST PARADE GAMES, MUSIC, AND FOOD AVAILABLE IN THE PARK DRAWS 4,000 - 5,000 RESIDENTS.


SENIORS AROUND TOWN: THE SENIOR RIDE SHARE PROGRAM PROVIDES TRANSPORTATION FOR ORINDA SENIORS WHO ARE NO LONGER ABLE TO DRIVE AND WHO MAY NOT QUALIFY FOR THE COUNTY CONNECTION LINK. TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEER ORINDA DRIVERS. THE SAT PROGRAM OFFERS EASE OF USE AT NO COST TO RIDERS, DOOR TO DOOR TRANSPORTATION TO ALL ELIGIBLE ORINDA SENIOR RESIDENTS. ORINDA VOLUNTEER DRIVERS USING THEIR OWN PERSONAL VEHICLES PROVIDE RIDES TO DOCTORS' APPOINTMENTS, ERRANDS, AND SOCIAL EVENTS IN THE LAMORIDA, BERKELEY, AND WALNUT CREEK AREAS, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 9AM AND 4PM.
