BROTHERS LIBERATING OUR COMMUNITIES (BLOC) PROVIDES AN EQUITY LENS AND JUSTICE BASED APPROACH TO TEACHER RETENTION AND DEVELOPMENT, HELPING SCHOOLS CREATE ENVIRONMENTS WHERE ALL STUDENTS ACHIEVE AND OBTAIN THE OPPORTUNITIES THEY DESERVE. BLOC WORKS TO INCREASE THE REPRESENTATION OF BLACK MALE EDUCATORS IN EDUCATION ENVIRONMENTS.

THE ORGANIZATION'S PRIMARY PROGRAM IS BLOC BUILDING. THIS DEVELOPMENT FOCUSES ON SKILLS AND RESOURCES THAT EDUCATORS CAN TAKE BACK TO THEIR CLASSROOMS. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES SUMMER AND WINTER BOOKEND AND SUPPLIES EVENTS. DURING FY22, THE ORGANIZATION HELD 12 EVENTS THAT CONNECTED MORE THAN 200 BLACK EDUCATORS.
