Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

THE 2021-2022 YEAR INCLUDED AN AMAZING JANUARY AND FEBRUARY MEDICAL AND CONSTRUCTION TRIP AS THE CULMINATION OF EIGHTEEN YEARS OF RELATIONSHIP BUILDING IN BELIZE. THIS CONTINUED OUR LONGSTANDING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF BELIZE AND ITS BELIZE MINISTRY OF HEALTH, AS WELL AS ALL THE NON- GOVERNMENT PARTNERS (NGOS) AND INDIVIDUALS IN BELIZE. OVER 70 VOLUNTEERS JOINED WITH 32 BELIZE VOLUNTEERS TO ACCOMPLISH A MULTITUDE OF TASKS. OVER 1,000 MEDICAL EVALUATIONS WERE DELIVERED WITH FREE PHARMACEUTICALS IN RURAL VILLAGES FOR CHILDREN OR ADULTS. OVER 130 PROCEDURES OF SURGERY WERE PERFORMED IN THE HOSPITAL BY OUR ENT, PLASTICS AND GENERAL SURGERY TEAMS. ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL PART OF THE LATE JANUARY AND EARLY FEBRUARY TRIP WAS TO ADD A HOST OF SAFEGUARDS FOR COVID SAFE CARE, SUCH AS OPEN AIR TENTS FOR SCREENING AND MANY OTHER THINGS, WHILE BEING THE FIRST GROUP BACK IN THE COUNTRY TO HELP AFTER TWO YEARS OF ABSENCE DUE TO COVID. TOTAL VALUE OF THIS TRIP IN MEDICAL SERVICES DONATED WAS $1,003,000. US AND CANADIAN VOLUNTEERS TRAVELING WITH PARTNERS FOR MEDICAL RELIEF DONATED 5,825 HOURS FROM THE US TEAM AND 1,228 HOURS FROM OUR BELIZE VOLUNTEERS.

BELIZE HOME CONSTRUCTION FUNDS SPENT IN 2020-2021 WERE TO FOLLOW UP ON THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CONCRETE HOME FOR OUR PATIENT GILBERTO AND HIS FAMILY SINCE HIS FAMILY WAS NOT ABLE TO WORK GAINFULLY LIKE OTHERS, DUE TO GILBERTOS EXTREME HEALTH NEEDS AND TRAVELS TO RECEIVE SURGERY.

GILBERTOS FUND WAS STARTED TO HELP A YOUNG BELIZE BOY, WHO WE HAVE FOLLOWED FOR SEVERAL YEARS, HELPING HIM TO RECEIVE SURGERY IN CINCINNATI THAT WE COULD NOT PERFORM DUE TO A LIFE THREATENING REACTION TO ANESTHESIA ON OUR ATTEMPT TO REPAIR A CLEFT PALATE WHEN GILBERTO WAS TWO.
