ST. JOSEPH'S CENTER (THE "CENTER") IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION FOUNDED BY THE CONGREGATION OF SISTERS, SERVANTS OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY, SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA. THE CENTER IS LOCATED IN LACKAWANNA COUNTY, PA AND PROVIDES SERVICES PRIMARILY TO RESIDENTS OF LACKAWANNA AND LUZERNE COUNTIES. ITS GENERAL PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE REHABILITATION AND DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES IN VARIOUS RESIDENTIAL AND COMMUNITY-BASED SETTINGS FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE PHYSICAL AND INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES--TO FOSTER THE WELFARE OF THE INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN ANY APPROPRIATE MANNER. THE CENTER ALSO OPERATES COMMUNITY HOMES IN LACKAWANNA AND LUZERNE COUNTIES AND PROVIDES A VARIETY OF SERVICES FOR PREGNANT AND PARENTING WOMEN, FAMILIES IN NEED AND COUPLES SEEKING ADOPTION SERVICES.
