THE SUPPORT GIVEN BY PWB ENABLED FLOATING DOCTORS TO TREAT PARASITIC INFECTIONS IN TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE AND ANIMALS IN 24 COMMUNITIES OVER 10,000 SQUARE MILES AS WELL AS PROVIDE ANTHELMINTIC PREVENTIVE CARE IN EVERY PATIENT WE VISITED. ADDITIONALLY, PWB SUPPORTED HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAMMING COVERING A WIDE VARIETY OF INDIVIDUAL AND PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES, INCLUDING IN-COMMUNITY SANITATION DISCUSSIONS FOLLOWING W.A.S.H. GUIDELINES AND MULTI-DAY CONFERENCES FOR LOCAL MIDWIVES AND HEALTHCARE WORKERS.PWB PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR TRAVEL AWARDS FOR THREE QUALIFIED FEMALE STUDENTS, EARLY-CAREER INVESTIGATORS OR SCIENTISTS ACTIVELY WORKING IN THE TROPICAL MEDICINE FIELD FROM LOW AND MIDDLE-INCOME COUNTRIES TO ATTEND THE ASTMH 2023 ANNUAL MEETING IN CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, USA, TO PRESENT THEIR WORK, LEARN FROM OTHERS IN THEIR AREA, AND NETWORK TO DEVELOP COLLABORATIONS.SUPPORTED THE ASTMH MISSION OF REDUCING THE WORLDWIDE BURDEN OF TROPICAL INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND IMPROVING GLOBAL HEALTH. THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF TROPICAL MEDICINE AND HYGIENE, FOUNDED IN 1903, IS THE LARGEST INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC ORGANIZATION OF EXPERTS DEDICATED TO REDUCING THE WORLDWIDE BURDEN OF TROPICAL INFECTIOUS DISEASES AND IMPROVING GLOBAL HEALTH. WE ACCOMPLISH THIS THROUGH GENERATING AND SHARING SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE, INFORMING HEALTH POLICIES AND PRACTICES, FOSTERING CAREER DEVELOPMENT, RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE, AND ADVOCATING FOR INVESTMENT IN TROPICAL MEDICINE/GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH. ASTMH HAS A CORE MEMBERSHIP OF 3,000 AND MONTHLY NEWSLETTER SUBSCRIBERS OF 17,000+.THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF PWB, FIMRC IS ABLE TO PROVIDE A FULL RANGE OF FREE MEDICAL SERVICES AT THEIR CLINIC IN BUDUDA, UGANDA, INCLUDING OUTPATIENT VISITS, MINOR SURGERIES, 24/7 MATERNITY WARD, AND AMBULANCE SERVICE. THE CLINIC SEES ABOUT 120 CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS PER DAY. DR. GRIFFIN CONTINUES TO VISIT THE BUDUDA SITE AND WORKS WITH OUR STAFF TO SEE PATIENTS AND MENTOR PROJECT BUDUDA'S PROVIDERS. OUTSIDE OF BUDUDA, THE SUPPORT FROM PWB BOTH FINANCIALLY AND THROUGH THEIR ONGOING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS CONTINUES TO ALLOW OUR ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE CARE AT OUR CLINICS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR ASPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE INTERESTED IN GLOBAL HEALTH.THANKS TO THE SUPPORT OF PWB, MICROBETV WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE RECORDING AND BROADCASTING ITS NEARLY A DOZEN SCIENCE-BASED PODCASTS FOCUSED ON THE LIFE SCIENCES SUCH AS VIROLOGY, PARASITOLOY, MICROBIOLOGY, AND NEUROSCIENCE. THE PODCASTS ARE COMPLETELY FREE FOR LISTENERS AND REACHES THOUSANDS OF LISTENERS EACH DAY.
