NIAC, THE 501(C)(3) SISTER ORGANIZATION OF NIAC ACTION, IS DEDICATED TO EDUCATING & ENGAGING THE IRANIAN-AMERICAN COMMUNITY IN ORDER TO ADVANCE PEACE & DIPLOMACY, SECURE EQUITABLE IMMIGRATION POLICIES, AND PROTECT THE CIVIL RIGHTS OF ALL AMERICANS.

NIAC COUNCIL WORK IS FOCUSED ROUND 3 AREAS: 1- ADVANCING PEACE & DIPLOMACY 2.SECURING EQUITABLE IMMIGRATION POLICIES AND 3.PROTECTING CIVIL RIGHTS 3.PROTECTING CIVIL RIGHTS NIAC PETITIONED THE DEPARTMENT OF TREASURY FOR A FORMAL RULE CHANGE TO LICENSE AMERICANS TO OPERATE BANK ACCOUNTS FROM IRAN, WHICH COULD EFFECTIVELY END THE DISCRIMINATORY ACTIONS FACED BY OUR COMMUNITY. NIAC ALSO CALLED ON BANK OF AMERICA TO HALT ITS PRACTICE OF SHUTTING THE ACCOUNTS OF INDIVIDUALS OF IRANIAN NATIONAL ORIGIN OR HERITAGE AND UNDERSCORING THAT SANCTIONS DO NOT OBLIGATE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS TO CLOSE THE BANK ACCOUNTS OF INDIVIDUALS ORDINARILY RESIDENT IN THE UNITED STATES. NIAC ALSO CONTINUED TO DEMAND ANSWERS AROUND THE TRAGIC DEATH OF BIJAN GHAISAR BY WORKING WITH A COALITION OF IRANIAN-AMERICAN ORGANIZATIONS TO URGE ACCOUNTABILITY FROM THE U.S. PARK POLICE, DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, AND FBI SURROUNDING DETAILS OF THE INVESTIGATION.
