THE FOUNDATION WORKS TO REDUCE HUNGER AND INCREASE FOOD RECOVERY EFFORTS VIA EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY EVENTS. THE GOAL OF THESE EVENTS IS TO INFLUENCE THE SPECIALTY FOOD INDUSTRY TO VOLUNTEER TIME AND DONATE PRODUCTS TO HELP LOCAL FOOD RECOVERY AND HUNGER RELIEF ORGANIZATIONS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO WORKS TO ENCOURAGE DONATION OF FOOD FROM EXHIBITORS AT THE WINTER AND SUMMER FANCY FOOD SHOWS. IN 2020, THE SUMMER FANCY FOOD SHOW WAS CANCELLED DUE TO COMPLICATIONS FROM COVID-19. ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS WILL COME IN FUTURE YEARS WITH SOME BEING MORE FOCUSED ON COMMUNITY BUILDING AND OTHERS ON AWARENESS OR EDUCATION. THE FOUNDATION HOPES TO BE A CATALYST TO GET THE SPECIALTY FOOD INDUSTRY INVOLVED IN HUNGER RELIEF AND FOOD RECOVERY.
