OUR MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE INTERESTS AND PROMOTE THE WELFARE OF THE ECONOMICALLY DISENFRANCHISED AND HOMELESS PEOPLE IN LONG BEACH BY OFFERING A WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT TO PROVIDE RESPITE, NUTRITION, OPPORTUNITY AND HOPE.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

UCO IS PROUD TO REPORT THAT WE HAVE MADE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN OUR EFFORTS TO SERVE PEOPLE EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. SPECIFICALLY, WE SERVED 5,800 MEALS TO THOSE IN NEED, ENSURING THAT THEY HAD ACCESS TO HEALTHY AND NUTRITIOUS FOOD ON A REGULAR BASIS. ADDITIONALLY, WE GAVE OUT 250 GROCERY BAGS TO FAMILIES STRUGGLING TO MAKE ENDS MEET, HELPING TO ALLEVIATE SOME OF THE FINANCIAL BURDENS THEY MAY BE FACING. WE ALSO RECOGNIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF PROVIDING WARMTH AND SHELTER TO THOSE WITHOUT A HOME. TO THAT END, WE DISTRIBUTED 100 SLEEPING BAGS AND 250 JACKETS, ENSURING THAT THOSE LIVING ON THE STREETS HAVE SOME PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTS. FINALLY, WE ASSISTED THREE FAMILIES WITH THEIR RENT PAYMENTS, HELPING TO PREVENT THEM FROM BECOMING HOMELESS IN THE FIRST PLACE SO THAT THESE FAMILIES CAN REMAIN IN THEIR HOMES AND THRIVE. OVERALL, WE ARE THRILLED WITH OUR PROGRESS AND WE REMAIN DEDICATED TO MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT IN THE LIVES OF THOSE WE SERVE.
