THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS GEORGIA CHAPTER, OR THE GEORGIA COLLEGE OF EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS (GCEP), IS A MEDICAL SPECIALTY SOCIETY THAT WAS FORMED TO IMPROVE EMERGENCY CARE BY SETTING HIGH STANDARDS FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL EDUCATION AND PRACTICE. GCEP IS AN ASSOCIATION OF MORE THAN 750 EMERGENCY MEDICINE PHYSICIANS. GCEP PROMOTES THE HIGHEST STANDARDS OF PATIENT CARE THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF GEORGIA THROUGH ITS ADVOCACY AND LEADERSHIP EFFORTS.

THE GCEP HOLDS ANNUAL MEETINGS. TOPICS DISCUSSED INCLUDED MEDICAL DOCUMENTATION, PEDIATRIC MINOR HEAD INJURIES, AND CONCUSSION TREATMENT. ATTENDEES ARE GIVEN UP TO DATE CURRENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE LATEST PROCEDURES REGARDING EMERGENCY HEALTHCARE.
THE GCEP HOSTS VARIOUS MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. QUARTERLY MEETINGS ARE HELD FOR BOARD MEMBERS AND LEADERSHIP TO ASSIST WITH MANAGEMENT AND PLANNING FOR THE ORGANIZATION. GCEP HOLDS A LEADERSHIP MEETING TO PROVIDE LEADERSHIP EDUCATION, DISCUSS LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES IN GEORGIA, AND MOTIVATED LEADERS TO IMPROVE EMERGENCY CARE IN THE STATE OF GEORGIA.
THE GCEP PROVIDES A NEWSLETTER FOR THEIR MEMBERS TO COORDINATE ACTIVITIES OF THE ORGANIZATION, DISSEMINATE INFORMATION ABOUT THE LATEST PROCEDURES IN EMERGENCY CARE, AND PROVIDE A FORUM FOR DISCUSSIONS RELATED TO ADVANCES IN EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE.
