TO ACQUIRE AND PRESERVE AMERICA'S MOST IMPORTANT ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES.

ACQUISITION, CONSERVATION, AND MANAGEMENT: DURING THE YEAR ENDED JULY 31, 2022, THE CONSERVANCY COMPLETED THE ACQUISITION OF 8 ENDANGERED ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES WHICH ARE NOW MANAGED AS ARCHAEOLOGICAL PRESERVES. EIGHTEEN MORE SITES AND CONSERVATION EASEMENTS ARE IN VARIOUS STAGES OF ACQUISITION. IN ALL, THE CONSERVANCY HAS PRESERVED OVER 550 ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITES ACROSS THE COUNTRY, MAINTAINING SECURITY AND PROVIDING STABILIZATION AND OTHER MAINTENANCE SERVICES ON THE PRESERVES.


EDUCATION: DURING THE YEAR ENDED JULY 31, 2022, THE CONSERVANCY PUBLISHED FOUR ISSUES OF "AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY" MAGAZINE, WHICH WERE DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES WITH A TOTAL DISTRIBUTION OF APPROXIMATELY 25,000 COPIES PER ISSUE. IN ADDITION, THE CONSERVANCY RESUMED DOMESTIC ARCHAEOLOGICAL TRAVEL SEMINARS IN THE SPRING OF 2021, AND FIVE ARCHAEOLOGICAL TRAVEL SEMINARS WERE CONDUCTED IN THE UNITED STATES DURING THE FISCAL YEAR.
