IN 2021 WE PUBLISHED A SEVEN-PART SERIES CALLED EVICTION EPIDEMIC, CHRONICLING HOW COVID-19 THRUST THOUSANDS OF NEW MEXICANS INTO ECONOMIC TURMOIL AND HOUSING INSECURITY. WE COLLECTED DATA FOR EVERY EVICTION FILED IN NEW MEXICO OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS AND CREATED A PUBLICLY-ACCESSIBLE DATABASE. WE WROTE ABOUT EDUCATION THE BATTLES OVER TEXTBOOKS AND CRITICAL RACE THEORY; THE CHILDREN WHO HAVE DISAPPEARED FROM SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ROLLS ON THE NAVAJO NATION; THE THOUSANDS OF AT-RISK STUDENTS WHO STILL HAVE NO ACCESS TO THE INTERNET, MAKING REMOTE LEARNING ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE. WE PRODUCED WEBINARS ON PHOTOJOURNALISM AND CLIMATE CHANGE.
