MARK DAY SCHOOL IS AN INDEPENDENT, NON-SECTARIAN, COEDUCATIONAL SCHOOL SERVING 380 STUDENTS IN KINDERGARTEN THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE. MARK DAY SCHOOL STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN A CHALLENGING AND ACTIVE HANDS-ON ACADEMIC PROGRAM, PREPARING THEM FOR SUCCESS IN FUTURE SCHOOLING AND IN LIFE. MARK DAY SCHOOL ACADEMICS INCLUDES TRADITIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES OF FOUNDATIONAL LITERACIES SUCH AS MATH AND THE HUMANITIES, AS WELL AS FOUR CROSS-DISCIPLINARY LITERACIES THAT ARE INTERWOVEN INTO THE CURRICULUM. THE FOUR CROSS-DISCIPLINARY LITERACIES ARE; MEDIA AND INFORMATION, SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL, ECOLOGICAL AND CROSS-CULTURAL. CROSS-CULTURAL LITERACY IS ENHANCED THROUGH OUR FORMALIZED PARTNERSHIPS WITH FOREIGN SCHOOLS IN CHINA, COSTA RICA AND SOUTH AFRICA. FOLLOWING GRADUATION, MARK DAY SCHOOL ALUMNI MATRICULATE AT EXCELLENT INDEPENDENT, PUBLIC AND PAROCHIAL HIGH SCHOOLS IN THE BAY AREA AND AT BOARDING SCHOOLS AROUND THE COUNTRY.
