Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

BLACK BEAR RESEARCH AND EDUCATION: THE FOUNDATION IS WORKING WITH RENOWNED BLACK BEAR SPECIALIST BEN KILHAM TO RESEARCH THE BEHAVIOR OF BLACK BEARS, AND TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT BEARS. EDUCATING THE PUBLIC ABOUT BEAR BEHAVIOR IS CRITICAL IN ORDER TO ENHANCE COHABITATION, REDUCE BEAR/HUMAN CONFLICT AND PROMOTE WILDLIFE CONSERVATION. (NO COSTS INCURRED BY FOUNDATION IN FYE 2022 AS THIS WAS VOLUNTEER TIME)

CROSS COUNTRY SKIING: WE HAD APPROXIMATELY 10,000 SKI VISITS THIS YEAR TO OUR 50 KILOMETERS OF SKATE AND CLASSIC CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TRAILS THAT WE GROOM AND MAINTAIN. THESE TRAILS ARE AVAILABLE TO USE BY THE PUBLIC FREE OF CHARGE. BECAUSE OF COVID WE WERE NOT ABLE TO UTILIZE THE WARMING HUTS SO WE INSTALLED TWO OUTDOOR FIRE PITS, COOK STOVES AND SUPPLIED THEM WITH WATER, HOT CHOCOLATE AND THE FIXINGS FOR SMORE'S. WE ADDED A NEW SCANDIC SNOWMOBILE AND ADDED TRACKS TO OUR HONDA UTV TO HELP IN GROOMING THE CROSS COUNTRY SKI TRAILS. THESE ACTIVITIES PROMOTE HEALTHY OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES DURING THE WINTER MONTHS AND EDUCATION THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE BENEFITS OF CONNECTING TO NATURE.

MOUNTAIN BIKING: WE UTILIZE APPROXIMATELY 70 MILES OF MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAILS WITH HALF BEING SINGLE TRACK MACHINE-BUILT FLOW TRAILS ON GREEN WOODLANDS PROPERTY. THESE TRAILS ARE AVAILABLE TO USE BY THE PUBLIC FREE OF CHARGE. WE HAD APPROXIMATELY 10,000 VISITS DURING OUR JUNE 1-NOVEMBER 1 MOUNTAIN BIKE SEASON.
