NOWCASTSA IS AN ONLINE NEWS ORGANIZATION OPERATED TO EDUCATE AND INFORM SAN ANTONIO RESIDENTS AND PROMOTE AND FACILITATE AN INCLUSIVE CIVIC CONVERSATION.

NOWCASTSA BELIEVES THAT ACCESS TO DATA AND INFORMATION IS ESSENTIAL TO A HEALTHY DEMOCRACY. NOWCASTSA.COM PUBLISHED 342 EDUCATIONAL ARTICLES, MAPS AND EVENTS AND REACHED 48,857 UNIQUE VISITORS IN 2021. THE MOST VIEWED CONTENT WAS AN INTERACTIVE MAP SHOWING VOTING LOCATIONS AND FREE WATER DISTRIBUTION SITES, AND STORIES REGARDING WINTER WEATHER INFORMATION AND COVERAGE OF THE MAY 5, 2021 AND NOVEMBER 2, 2021 LOCAL ELECTIONS. IN ADDITION, NOWCASTSA PRODUCED 11 LIVE WEBCASTS AND 29 VIDEOS ON ITS YOUTUBE CHANNEL THAT WAS WATCHED A TOTAL OF 118,500 TIMES FOR A TOTAL OF 5,100 HOURS. THE MOST VIEWED VIDEOS PRODUCED THIS YEAR WERE WORLD REFUGEE DAY, CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FORUMS AND THE FIESTA ESPECIAL ROYAL COURT CORONATION. IN 2021 NOWCASTSA'S TEAM PRODUCED TWO LIVE WEBCASTS ON CROWDCAST.IO, A MAYORAL CANDIDATE TOWN HALL AND A DISTRICT 2 CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATE FORUM. THE BROADCASTS WERE SEEN BY 96 LIVE VIEWERS AND REPLAYED BY 18 VIEWERS. IN 2021 NOWCASTSA HOSTED FOUR CANDIDATE FORUMS FOR MAYORAL, DISTRICT 1 AND DISTRICT 2 CITY COUNCIL CANDIDATES. AROUND 200 PEOPLE ATTENDED IN-PERSON EVENTS. IN 2021 NOWCASTSA PROVIDED MORE THAN 6,670 HOURS OF ON-THE-JOB TRAINING TO 10 INTERNS FROM FIVE LOCAL COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES.
