THE FOUNDATION WORKED TO INCREASE DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY THROUGH VARIOUS GRANTS AND INITIATIVES. FIRST, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY (AN HBCU) AND THE LOUISIANA DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE, IT IS CREATING A FIRST OF ITS KIND DEGREE PROGRAM TO PREPARE UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS FOR THE INSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT INDUSTRIES. SECOND, IT CONTRIBUTED TO THE CREATION OF THE MARINO CASEM SCHOLARSHIP FUND AT SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY (AN HBCU). FINALLY, THE FOUNDATION IS WORKING TO REMOVE BARRIERS TO WORKING IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY THROUGH ESTABLISHING A PROGRAM FOR UNDERREPRESENTED STUDENTS TO INTERN IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY AS WELL AS STUDY FOR CERTIFICATION PROGRAMS NECESSARY TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND COMPETITIVE.
