THE FOUNDATION WILL UNDERTAKE AND/OR SUPPORT ACTIVITIES TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO THE POOR, DISTRESSED, AND UNDERPRIVILEGED BY OFFERING OR SUPPORTING WORKFORCE TRAINING, LITERACY PROGRAMS, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO IMPROVE JOB SKILLS AMONG THE UNEMPLOYED, UNDEREMPLOYED, AND ECONOMICALLY UNDERPRIVILEGED THROUGHOUT THE GREATER KANSAS CITY REGION; PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE AND INCLUSIVE PROSPERITY, ELIMINATE RACIAL PREJUDICE AND DISCRIMINATION, LESSEN THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT, AND COMBAT COMMUNITY DETERIORATION AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY BY SUPPORTING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN THE GREATER KANSAS CITY REGION IN THE AREAS OF SOCIAL AND HEALTH ISSUES, RACE RELATIONS, NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT, AND ECONOMIC GROWTH; AND ENGAGE IN SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE, SCIENTIFIC, AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AS ARE CONSISTENT WITH THE PURPOSES OF THE PROCEDING SECTION.

KANSAS CITY TOMORROW - SEE DESRIPTION ON SCHEDULE O.KANSAS CITY TOMORROW (KCT): AS A PROGRAM OF THE CIVIC COUNCIL OF GREATER KANSAS CITY, KCT IS COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING THE NEXT GENERATION OF CIVIC VOLUNTEER LEADERSHIP. IT IS A SELECTIVE, TEN-MONTH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM THAT PREPARES SENIOR LEVEL BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY LEADERS FOR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT IN THE KANSAS CITY REGION, SUCH AS SERVING ON THE BOARDS OF NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS OR BROADENING THEIR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP. THE MEASURES OF SUCCESS ARE FOCUSED ON CIVIC ENGAGEMENT UPON PROGRAM COMPLETION. KCT IS FUNDED THROUGH "TUITION" REVENUE THAT IS INTENDED TO COVER THE ACTUAL COST OF DELIVERING THE PROGRAM (IT FALLS SHORT OF COVERING THE FULL COST) AND THE CIVIC COUNCIL PROVIDES A SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF $22,000 TO SUPPORT THE RECRUITMENT OF COMMUNITY LEADERS, SMALL AND MINORITY BUSINESSES TO PARTCIPATE. CIVIC COUNCIL STAFF AND CONTRACTED FACILITATORS PROVIDE STAFF SUPPORT FOR THE PROGRAM AND CIVIC COUNCIL MEMBERS DONATE THEIR TIME AS PART OF THE LEADERSHIP GROUP THAT SUPPORTS AND GUIDES THE PROGRAM.
KC RISING - SEE DESCRIPTION ON SCHEDULE O.KC RISING: KC RISING IS A REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE TO GROW OUR ECONOMY, INCLUDE ALL MEMBERS OF OUR COMMUNITY, AND ENCOURAGE INNOVATION TO HELP PREPARE FOR OUR FUTURE. KC RISING WAS FORMED IN 2015 TO HELP KC GROW THE OVERALL ECONOMY FASTER AND MORE INTENTIONALLY. KC RISING IS BUSINESS-LED, METRICS-BASED AND LONG-TERM FOCUSED. KC RISING SUPPORTS AND AMPLIFIES COMPLEMENTARY INITIATIVES AND SERVE WITH COMMUNITY-WIDE IMPACT. KC RISING EXISTS TO ACHIEVE A REGIONAL VISION OF PROSPERITY FOR ALL BY ALIGNING AND ACCELERATING COMMUNITY EFFORT FOR GREATEST IMPACT. KC RISING REPORTS PROGRESS AGAINST 10 BENCHMARK METROS THAT WE TYPICALLY COMPETE AGAINST. GUIDED BY A STEERING COMMITTEE COMPOSED OF BUSINESS AND EDUCATION LEADERS, AS WELL AS REGIONAL ELECTED OFFICIALS, KC RISING CONCENTRATES ITS EFFORTS ON SEVEN PILLARS OF PROSPERITY: ENTERPRISE, INDUSTRY, INCLUSION, CONNECTIVITY, CULTURE, NEIGHBORHOODS AND EDUCATION.
