VALLEY ONWARD SEEKS TO BRING EQUITY TO ALL NEIGHBORHOODS SO THAT ALL CALIFORNIANS CAN ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF HEALTHY COMMUNITIES TO LIVE LONG AND PROSPER.

VALLEY ONWARD EMPOWERS COMMUNITY RESIDENTS TO GET CIVICALLY ENGAGED IN ORDER TO BUILD HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES AND EQUITABLE POLICIES. THIS YEAR, WE CONCLUDED OUR LATEST ROUND OF CLASSES FOR OUR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS LEADERSHIP TRAINING INSTITUTE (BCLI) IN MERCED, AND OUR PARENT LEADERSHIP TRAINING INSTITUTE (PLTI) IN GUSTINE. WE HAD 10 GRADUATES FROM BCLI, AND 11 GRADUATES FROM PLTI. OUR PLTI ALUMNI CONTINUE TO MEET REGULARLY. IN JUNE WE PARTNERED WITH SOLANO COUNTY PLTI ALUMNI TO TAKE A VISIT TO THE STATE CAPITAL AND SPEND THE DAY LEARNING AND MEETING OUR LOCAL REPRESENTATIVES. IN JULY WE HELD A 2-DAY RETREAT FOR THEM THAT ENABLED THEM TO STRATEGIZE DISTRICT WIDE SCHOOL POLICY CHANGES.
