Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
EARTH-BASED PRACTICES: INDIGENOUS CULTURES HAVE THEIR OWN PRACTICES OF STILLNESS, SILENCES, SELF-REFLECTION, HEALING, AND VISIONING. THE FOUR-UNIVERSAL POSITIONS IN MINDFULNESS MEDITATION - SITTING, STANDING, WALKING, AND LYING DOWN - ARE PRESENT IN EARTH-BASED PRACTICES. THE INTEGRATION OF THESE PRACTICES WITH THE NATURAL WORLD IS A PARAMOUNT INDIGENOUS APPROACH TO MINDFULNESS. DIRECTLY WORKING WITH NATURE MIRRORS THE LIVING BEAUTY WITHIN ONE'S OWN NATURE. THIS CULTIVATION OF UNDERSTANDING SELF THROUGH A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NATURAL WORLD INVOKES MEMORIES THAT IGNITE CURIOSITY AND WONDER. WE OFFER MULTIPLE CLASSES AND LAND-BASED EXPERIENCES. WITHIN THE EARTH-BASED PRACTICES PROGRAM WE HAVE LAND EXPERIENCES AND CLASSES BY INDIGENOUS WISDOM HOLDERS.
BRAIDED WISDOM CROSS-CULTURAL MINDFULNESS LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM (BWCCMLTP) IS AN INTENSIVE CROSS-CULTURAL MINDFULNESS FACILITATION TRAINING THAT WEAVES AND INTEGRATES MINDFULNESS WITH EARTH-BASED PRACTICES ROOTED IN INDIGENOUS WISDOM. IN THIS 14-MONTH TRAINING PROGRAM, PARTICIPANTS WILL BE GUIDED TO DEEPEN CONNECTION TO NATURE'S WISDOM, DEVELOP SKILLS AND FACILITATE THE CROSS-CULTURAL MINDFULNESS CURRICULUM AND OFFER THESE PRACTICES AND TEACHINGS TO INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR COMMUNITIES.
ORIGINAL MEDICINE PROGRAMS: ORIGINAL MEDICINE YEARLONG PROGRAM IS A PSYCHO-SPIRITUAL CROSS-CULTURAL MINDFULNESS APPROACH TO HEALING AND DEVELOPMENT. THE CONTEMPLATIVE TEACHINGS WEAVE TOGETHER INDIGENOUS WISDOM, BUDDHA-DHARMA, MINDFULNESS, AND EARTH-BASED PRACTICES. THIS PROGRAM TEACHES PARTICIPATES HOW TO WORK WITH THE FOUR SEASONS AS TOOLS OF SELF-AWARENESS, TO LEARN THE PROCESS OF TRACKING ONE'S OWN CHANGES, AND TO CONNECT TO ONE'S OWN NATURAL PHENOMENA AS A HUMAN BEING. IN INDIGENOUS SOCIETIES, THERE ARE LONG-STANDING PRACTICES OF CREATING THE SACRED, CULTIVATING STILLNESS, DEEP LISTENING, AND EMBRACING SILENCE. INDIGENOUS SOCIETIES RECOGNIZE INDIVIDUALS HOLDING THEIR PERSONAL POWER AS THEIR ORIGINAL MEDICINE. THE SHADOW OF THE FALSE SELF IS PURIFIED AS HUMANS STRENGTHEN THEIR AUTHENTIC SELVES THROUGH THE PRACTICE OF COMING HOME TO THEIR TRUTH AND POWER. THE TEACHINGS OF BUDDHA AND INDIGENOUS WISDOM BUILDS A FOUNDATION OF TRUTH, TRUST, AND LOVE. TOGETHER WE WILL EXPLORE WAYS OF COMING INTO OUR OWN ORIGINAL MEDICINE AND ENHANCE OUR PERSONAL GROWTH AND PURPOSE. ORIGINAL MEDICINE 4-PART SERIES IS A PLATFORM FOR INDIGENOUS MEDICINE ELDER TEACHERS AND WISDOM HOLDERS FROM ALL FOUR CORNERS OF THE WORLD. THIS SERIES SEEKS TO ILLUMINATE THE OFTEN OVERLOOKED AND UNHEARD VOICES OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLE AND THEIR CULTURAL PERSPECTIVES.
