Part 3 - Line 4a

THE NORTH PARK BUSINESS AND NEIGHBORHOOD FOUNDATION (THE ORGANIZATION) FOCUSED ON KEY PRIORITY AREAS THAT HAVE BEEN IN PROGRESS SINCE THE ORGANIZATION'S FORMATION.FIRST, WE CONTINUED WORK ON ACTIVATION AND EVENTS PLANNING FOR THE NEWLY-OPENED NORTH PARK MINI PARK. IN SUPPORT OF THIS, THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERED WITH NEIGHBORHOOD CHARITABLE AND BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS TO RAISE FUNDS IN SUPPORT OF THE PARK'S ACTIVATION. THIS CENTERED ON THE SALES OF CUSTOM PRINTED BRICK PAVERS WHICH WERE PLACED IN THE PARKS' FINALIZED LANDSCAPING TO COMMEMORATE DONORS. THE PROGRAM WAS SUCCESSFUL AND WILL FUND THE INITIAL PHASES OF THE ORGANIZATION'S WORK AT THE PARK SITE.BEYOND THE WORK FOCUSED ON ACTIVATIONS AT THE PARK, THE ORGANIZATION DEVELOPED A PLACEMAKING PROJECT FOR THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT OF THE NORTH PARK NEIGHBORHOOD. FY21 SAW THE FIRST INVESTMENT IN THIS PROGRAM IN THE FORM OF A COMMUNITY PIANO. THE PIANO WAS PURCHASED BY THE ORGANIZATION, REFURBISHED, PAINTED AND TUNED. THE ORGANIZATION SELECTED A LOCAL BUSINESS TO SERVE AS THE INITIAL HOST FOR THE PIANO. THE ORGANIZATION SECURED A PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY PERMIT WHICH ALLOWS THE PIANO TO BE PLACED ON THE SIDEWALK DURING DESIGNATED HOURS. IT IS FREE TO USE AND OFFERS A MUSICAL ACTIVATION FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD.FINALLY, THE ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON BROADENING COMMUNITY AWARENESS OF THE ORGANIZATION AND ITS MISSION. THIS PRIMARILY CONSISTED OF PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING TO INTERESTED NEIGHBORHOOD RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES.
