TO STRENGTHEN VUNERABLE AMERICAN INDIAN AND ALASKA NATIVE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES THROUGH COLLABORATIVE AND CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE SERVICES. THE VISION FOR THE FUTURE IS GENERATIONS OF HEALTHY, STRONG AMERICAN INDIAN AND ALASKA NATIVE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES.

THE AGENCY'S GOALS SUPPORT THE EFFORTS OF CHILD WELFARE SYSTEMS TO SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENT THE SPIRIT OF THE INDIAN CHILD WELFARE ACT (ICWA). TO THAT END, THE AGENCY IS FOCUSED ON ACHIEVING THE FOLLOWING OVERALL OBJECTIVES: 1. STRENGTHENING THE ABILITIES OF PARENTS/CAREGIVERS TO SAFELY PROTECT AND NURTURE AMERICAN INDIAN CHILDREN. 2. IMPROVING FAMILY FUNCTIONING AND PARENTING SKILLS, AND INCREASING THE WELL-BEING OF ALL FAMILY MEMBERS. 3. INCREASING FAMILY SELF SUFFICIENCY. 4. STRENGTHENING AND MAINTAINING AMERICAN INDIAN CHILDREN'S CONNECTIONS TO EXTENDED FAMILY AND KIN, TRIBE AND CULTURE.
