YAMPATIKA'S MISSION IS TO INSPIRE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP THROUGH EDUCATION. THEY FULFIL THAT MISSION BY DEVELOPING ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES THAT SERVE THE CHILDREN AND ADULTS OF NORTHWEST COLORADO.

YAMPATIKAS MAIN GOAL IS TO DEVELOP ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES THAT SERVE THE CHILDREN AND ADULTS OF NORTHWEST COLORADO. THE GOALS OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS ARE TO: MAKE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION UNIVERSALLY ACCESSIBLE THROUGH THE ENVIRONMENTAL LEARNING CENTER (ELC) AT LEGACY RANCH; CREATE A DEMONSTRATION SITE AT THE ELC WHERE PEOPLE CAN LEARN ABOUT THE HISTORY, SOCIETAL SIGNIFICANCE AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS OF SUSTAINABLE LIVING; CONTINUE TO IMPLEMENT A MODEL K-5 ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY PROGRAM IN OUR SERVICE AREA; CONTINUE TO WORK AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL TO HAVE ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY INCLUDED IN SCHOOL CURRICULUM; CONTINUE TO OFFER HIGH-QUALITY ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AREA LAND MANAGEMENT AGENCIES, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND BUSINESSES; AND CONTINUE THE EXPANSION OF OUR PROGRAMS FOR LOW AND MODERATE INCOME, SPECIAL NEEDS AND AT-RISK YOUTH.
