TO STABILIZE FAMILIES LIVING IN POVERTY IN THE RURAL COLORADO COUNTIES OF CHEYENNE, ELBERT, KIT CARSON AND LINCOLN, AND TO MOVE THEM OUT OF POVERTY THROUGH EDUCATION, PROGRAMS, AND COLLABORATIONS WITH OTHER AGENCIES.

THE COMMUNITY SERVICES BLOCK GRANT IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER PROGRAMS OFFERED SUCH AS ENERGY OUTREACH COLORADO, MEDICARE OPEN ENROLLMENT ASSISTANCE, VOLUNTEER INCOME TAX ASSISTANCE AND TWO USDA COMMODITY PROGRAMS PROVIDE STABILIZATION SERVICES TO FAMILIES WITH LOW INCOME LIVING IN RURAL EASTERN COLORADO. THE PROGRAMS PROVIDE OUTREACH SERVICES TO MORE THAN 2,060 INDIVIDUALS LIVING IN THE SERVICE AREA OF LINCOLN, ELBERT, KIT CARSON, AND CHEYENNE COUNTIES.
ENERGY OUTREACH COLORADO - CECAA SUPPORTS THE PROCESSING OF ENERGY ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS IN COLLABORATION WITH ENERGY OUTREACH COLORADO TO LOW- INCOME CITIZENS IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE WITH ENERGY BILLS. IN 2021, ENERGY ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS TOTALING 15,000 WERE PAID TO UTILITY COMPANIES ON BEHALF OF 76 FAMILIES.
NU-2-U THRIFT STORE - CECAA OPERATES A THRIFT STORE WITH 100% DONATED INVENTORY. NU-2-U IS A SOCIAL ENTERPRISE THAT PROMOTES THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION. IT IS COMPLETELY SELF-SUPPORTING, AND PROVIDES A NUMBER OF PAID JOBS AS WELL AS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES.
