Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

IN 2021, PRAIRIE PROTECTION SECURED A LARGE PASSIVE RELOCATION OF PRAIRIE DOGS ON CHERRY CREEK STATE PARK. WE ALSO WERE ABLE TO SECURE TWO OTHER RELOCATIONS OF PRAIRIE DOGS ONTO ROCKY FLATS. IN ADDITION, WE ADVOCATED FOR MANY PRAIRIE DOG COLONIES THAT WERE SLATED FOR POISONING AND DREW ATTENTION TO THE ERADICATION OF PRAIRIE DOGS UP AND DOWN THE FRONT RANGE. WE EDUCATED THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE TROPHY HUNTING OF COLORADO'S WILDCATS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF BANNING THESE HUNTS IN COLORADO. PP PROVIDED A PRESENTATION WITH COLORADO VOTERS FOR ANIMALS TO LEGISLATORS ABOUT THE DANGERS OF RODENTICIDES, HOW THEY CAUSE MANGE IN COYOTES, MOUNTAIN LIONS, AND BOBCATS, AND HOW THOSE POISONS MOVE UP THE FOOD CHAIN. WE ALSO FOCUSED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAIRIE DOGS FOR THE CRITICALLY ENDANGERED BLACK-FOOTED FERRET AND ADVOCATED FOR LARGE ACREAGES OF LAND TO BE REPOPULATED WITH PRAIRIE DOGS IN ORDER TO FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES OF THE ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT FOR THE BLACK-FOOTED FERRET.
