OUT OF SCHOOL-ACADEMIC AND SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL LEARNING PROGRAM - AAI SUPPORTS FAMILIES AND YOUTH BY PLACING 40 FULL-TIME AMERICORPS MEMBERS IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND YOUTH SERVING ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE REGION. THESE MEMBERS PROVIDE ACADEMIC INTERVENTIONS, BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONS, CLASSROOM SUPPORT AND SOCIAL EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TO SLV AND ARK VALLEY YOUTH. THIS IS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH 17 LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS, 8 OUT OF SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMS AND 2 EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION CENTERS.
BACKCOUNTRY PROGRAM - B2B ALPINE ADVENTURERS OFFERS A TRANSFORMATIVE 10-MONTH PROGRAM TAILORED FOR YOUTHS AGED 12 TO 15 WITHIN THE SAN LUIS VALLEY. BY FOSTERING CONNECTIONS AMONG PEERS AND SUPPORTIVE ADULTS, THE PROGRAM AIMS TO CULTIVATE ENDURING RELATIONSHIPS AND A PROFOUND SENSE OF BELONGING IN NATURAL ENVIRONMENTS.
