WE ARE DEDICATED TO IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THOSE WITH DISABILITIES. WE BELIEVE THAT RECREATION, FUN, CHALLENGE, AND ACCESS TO THE OUTDOORS ARE ESSENTIAL TO HEALTH AND FULFILLMENT.

SHARED ADVENTURES COORDINATED OVER 200 ADAPTIVE ACTIVITIES IN 2022 INVOLVING OVER A THOUSAND PARTICIPANTS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES, INCLUDING BOTH OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES AND VIRTUAL, ONLINE ACTIVITIES. THESE ACTIVITIES INCLUDED BOTH SOCIAL EVENTS AND ATHLETIC AND PHYSICAL EXPERIENCES, CONTRIBUTING TO THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF OUR PARTICIPANTS AS WELL AS THEIR FAMILIES AND THE GENERAL COMMUNITY. ACTIVITIES INCLUDED: ADAPTIVE FITNESS AT A GYM, KAYAK RIDES, ARCHERY, KARAOKE NIGHTS, ART CLASSES, MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM TRIPS, BINGO, ROCK CLIMBING, BOWLING, SAILING, BOCCE BALL, WALK/HIKES, FUN THEMED DANCES, OUTRIGGER RIDES, WHARF FISHING, SANTA CRUZ WARRIORS GAMES, GARDENING, ONLINE FITNESS AND
DANCE PROGRAMS, INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES WITH HORSES, WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL AND WHALE-WATCHING, AS WELL AS DAY ON THE BEACH AND CAMP ADVENTURES (SUMMER CAMP).
WE CONTINUED OUR ACCESSIBLE RENTALS, WITH A CHILDREN'S BEACH WHEELCHAIR, AN ALL-TERRAIN TRACKCHAIR, AND A FLEET OF BEACH CHAIRS PROVIDING A MUCH NEEDED RESOURCE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES TO ACCESS STATE PARKS AND BEACHES. WE PROVIDED ADVOCACY FOR THE DISABLED COMMUNITY ON GOVERNMENT COMMITTEES AND TASK FORCES, AND COMMUNICATIONS WITH CITY, COUNTY AND STATE AGENCIES. WE DEVELOPED A NEW ACCESS GUIDE TO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY AND TOOK PART IN MANY COMMUNITY PRESENTATIONS.
