TO UNITE FOR THE MUTUAL BENEFIT OF WOMEN ATTORNEYS AND TO ELEVATE THE STANDING OF WOMEN IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION.

ANNUAL AWARDS RECEPTION DWLA'S ANNUAL AWARDS RECEPTION HONORS TRAILBLAZERS IN THE LEGAL COMMUNITY. THE PRESTIGIOUS RAGGIO AWARD IS NAMED FOR DWLA CO-FOUNDER AND DALLAS LEGAL PIONEER LOUISE RAGGIO, WHO WAS THE FIRST FEMALE PROSECUTOR IN DALLAS COUNTY HISTORY AND WHO HELPED DEVELOP THE TEXAS FAMILY CODE. EACH YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION PRESENTS THE RAGGIO AWARD TO SOMEONE WHO HAS DEMONSTRATED THE HIGHEST LEVELS OF PROFESSIONALISM WHILE MAKING SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN ATTORNEYS.


MENTORING CIRCLES THE DALLAS WOMEN LAWYERS ASSOCIATION (DWLA) PARTNERS WITH A SISTER BAR (THE DALLAS ASSOCIATION OF YOUNG LAWYERS-DAYL) TO CREATE A PROGRAM THAT SEEKS TO FACILITATE A CONNECTION BETWEEN ESTABLISHED FEMALE MEMBERS OF THE DALLAS BAR AND THEIR YOUNGER COLLEAGUES THROUGH MENTORSHIP. THE GOAL IS TO INTEGRATE THE WOMEN OF THE DALLAS LEGAL COMMUNITY THROUGH TEACHING AND FELLOWSHIP, CENTERING ON THE RETENTION, DEVELOPMENT, AND ADVANCEMENT OF FEMALE LAWYERS.


LEADERSHIP CLASS THE LEADERSHIP CLASS BENEFITS WOMEN LAW STUDENTS BY PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH THE TOOLS TO DEVELOP THE PROFESSIONAL SKILLS NECESSARY FOR SUCCESS AND LEADERSHIP POSITIONS IN LAW, BUSINESS, GOVERNMENT, THE NONPROFIT SECTOR, AND THE JUDICIARY. EACH YEAR DWLA SELECTS APPROXIMATELY 12 (TWELVE) APPLICANTS FOR ITS LEADERSHIP CLASS. APPLICANTS ARE CHOSEN BASED ON THEIR DEMONSTRATED COMMITMENT TO ELEVATING THE STANDING OF WOMEN IN THE LEGAL PROFESSION.
