THE PURPOSES OF THE ARKANSAS BAR ASSOCIATION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: ADVANCE THE ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE; FOSTER AND MAINTAIN ON THE PART OF ATTORNEYS HIGH IDEALS OF INTEGRITY, LEARNING, COMPETENCE AND PUBLIC SERVICE, AND HIGH STANDARDS OF CONDUCT; ENCOURAGE THE LEGAL PROFESSION AND ITS INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS TO PERFORM MORE EFFECTIVELY AND EFFICIENTLY THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST; CONDUCT A PROGRAM OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION FOR ATTORNEYS; PROVIDE A FORUM FOR THE DISCUSSION OF SUBJECTS PERTAINING TO THE PRACTICE OF LAW; IMPROVE THE JUDICIAL AND LEGAL PROCESS, AND ADVANCE LAW AND ORDER; AND ENCOURAGE PRACTICES THAT IMPROVE THE HONOR AND DIGNITY OF THE LEGAL PROFESSION.

ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERSHIP ATTENDED VIRTUALLY BY 370 ATTORNEYS, WITH 52 SPEAKERS INCLUDING ARKANSAS' MOST PROMINENT LAWYERS, JUDGES AND PROFESSORS ADDRESSING CURRENT LEGAL ISSUES AND RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF LAW; WITH 36.5 HOURS OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION AVAILABLE TO ATTENDEES.


ALL PROGRAMS FOR THE BAR YEAR WERE HELD VIRTUALLY. THERE WERE 5 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINARS OFFERING OVER 52.5 HOURS OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION ON A NUMBER OF TOPICS, PRESENTED TO BY 139 SPEAKERS. IN ADDITION, 116 WEBINARS WERE OFFERED TOTALING 111 HOURS OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION, PRESENTED TO A COMBINED TOTAL OF 3114 ATTENDEES.


PUBLICATION OF THE ARKANSAS LAWYER, A PROFESSIONAL MAGAZINE FOR ATTORNEYS; 17343 COPIES WERE PUBLISHED IN FOUR QUARTERLY ISSUES.


MOCK TRIAL COMPETITION PROVIDED SIMULATED REAL WORLD TRIAL EXPERIENCE FOR STUDENTS FROM SEVERAL HIGH SCHOOLS.THE ASSOCIATION CREATES AND PUBLISHES OVER A DOZEN HANDBOOKS AND LEGAL SYSTEMS CONCERNING VARIOUS AREAS OF LAW PRACTICE. WRITTEN BY EXPERIENCED ATTORNEYS, THE PUBLICATIONS PROVIDE LEGAL FORMS, RELEVANT LAW, PROCEDURAL RULES AND PRACTICAL "HOW TO" ADVICE FOR THE PRACTICE OF LAW IN THE SPECIFIC AREA COVERED.ARKANSASFINDALAWYER MATCHES ATTORNEYS WITH THOSE NEEDING THE SERVICES OF AN ATTORNEY. THERE WERE OVER 200 PARTICIPATING ATTORNEYS.
