DALLAS PROFESSIONAL SHOW - THE DALLAS SHOW PROVIDES REGIONAL CREATIVE PROFESSIONALS A JURIED COMPETITION THAT SHOWCASES AND AWARDS THE BEST DESIGN WORK CREATED IN A GIVEN YEAR. IT IS A HIGHLY-REGARDED EVENT IN THE REGION. THERE ARE TWO COMPONENTS TO THE SHOW: THE CALL FOR ENTRIES AND THE BANQUET. CALL FOR ENTRIES TAKE PLACE AROUND MARCH TO APRIL EVERY YEAR. COST OF A SINGLE ENTRY IS $55 FOR DSVC MEMBERS, $65 FOR NON-MEMBERS. AFTER JUDGING IS COMPLETE, ACCEPTED WORK SHOWCASED AT AN AWARDS BANQUET WHERE THE MEDAL WINNERS ARE ANNOUNCED, ALONG WITH A FEW ADDITIONAL AWARDS LIKE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT, BEST VOLUNTEER AND SO FORTH. THE BANQUET ALSO INCLUDES A PLATED DINNER. ATTENDING THE BANQUET IS A COST OF $90 FOR DSVC MEMBERS, $115 FOR NON-MEMBERS. IN THE 2023-2024 SEASON, NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED JUDGES SELECTED APPROXIMATELY 66 PIECES FOR THE SHOW AND AWARDED 26 MEDALS FROM ABOUT 193 PIECES SUBMITTED.
WORKING LUNCH INCOME, SPECIAL EVENTS, ADMINISTRATIVE FEE - TO PROVIDE DFW CREATIVE PROFESSIONALS AN OPPORTUNITY TO FURTHER THEIR SELF PROFESSIONALLY BY ATTENDING A LUNCH BI-QUARTERLY THAT PROVIDES PANEL SPEAKERS TO SPEAK ON VARIOUS CREATIVE TOPICS AND HAVE QUESTION AND ANSWER TIME AT THE END OF THE LUNCH. APPROXIMATELY 25-35 PEOPLE ATTEND EACH OF THE BI-QUARTERLY LUNCHES. DSVC MEMBERS $25, NON-DSVC MEMBERS $45.
MONTHLY SPEAKER MEETINGS - DSVC STRIVES TO ELEVATE THE STANDARDS OF THE INDUSTRY AND PROMOTE THE VALUE THAT CREATIVE PROFESSIONALS ADD TO COMMERCE AND THE COMMUNITY AT-LARGE. NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SPEAKERS ARE BROUGHT IN TO SPEAK ABOUT HOW TO FURTHER THESE GOALS. APPROXIMATELY 21 PEOPLE ATTEND EACH OF THE MEETINGS HOSTED. NON-MEMBER PROFESSIONALS PAY $20 TO ATTEND AND STUDENT NON-MEMBERS PAY $10 TO ATTEND THE MEETING. DSVC MEMBERS ATTEND AT NO COST. EVERY ATTENDEE IS OFFERED A FLAT POSTER AT THE EVENT TO TAKE HOME.
