THE MISSION OF CONTRA COSTA MIDRASHA (CCM) IS TO FORM AND INFORM A PLURALISTIC JEWISH TEEN COMMUNITY (GRADES 8-12) AND TO DEVELOP AND ENHANCE PERSONAL JEWISH IDENTITY FOR EACH MEMBER OF THIS COMMUNITY

PROGRAMMING: IN THE 2021-22 YEAR, CCM RETURNED TO FULL IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING. OUR WEEKLY WEDNESDAY NIGHTS CONTINUED FOR JEWISH ENGAGEMENT AND EDUCATION OF OUR TEENS. IN 2021-22, CCM ADDED A THIRD LEG OF ITS "CHANGE THE WORLDX OR "TIKKUN OLAM" OFFERINGS. IN ADDITION TO OUR EXISTING HAMSA FUND (TEEN PHILANTHROPY BOARD) AND BETTER TOGETHER (INTERGENERATIONAL LEARNING AND GROWING), CCM'S NEWEST PROGRAM WAS PROJECT EZRACH - A HANDS-ON SERVICE AND ADVOCACY OPTION FOR TEENS TO LEARN ABOUT SOCIAL ISSUES AND HOW TO AFFECT CHANGE. FINALLY, IN 2021-22 CCM TOOK OVER MANAGEMENT OF RETREATS FROM OUR PARTNER, BERKELEY-OAKLAND MIDRASHA. IN THIS ROLE, CCM ORGANIZED WEEKEND JEWISH ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMS FOR TEENS TO BE TOGETHER DURING SHABBAT AT DIFFERENT CAMP FACILITIES.
