DVAC'S LEGAL TEAM PROVIDES CIVIL LEGAL SERVICES FOR SURVIVORS, CONSISTING OF COMPLEX AND POTENTIALLY LETHAL DIVORCE, RESTRAINING ORDER, PATERNITY, AND POST-DECREE MATTERS. IN FY2022, THE LEGAL TEAM RECEIVED 240 LEGAL REPRESENTATION REQUESTS, OPENED 163 CASES, CLOSED 144 CASES, MADE 739 COURT APPEARANCES, CONDUCTED 539 RISK ASSESSMENTS, AND COMPLETED 276 SAFETY PLANS.


ALAKA'I ADVOCATES PROVIDE INTENSIVE SUPPORT TO SURVIVORS OF FAMILY VIOLENCE ON O'AHU. IN ADDITION TO CORE SUPPORT (LONG-TERM ADVOCACY, RISK ASSESSMENTS, SAFETY PLANS) THEY ALSO PROVIDE ACCESS TO EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND REFERRALS TO OTHER COMMUNITY RESOURCES. IN FY2022, ADVOCATES OPENED 253 CASES, CLOSED 292 CASES, MADE 243 COURT/APPT. ACCOMPANIMENTS, CONDUCTED 1,046 RISK ASSESSMENTS, AND COMPLETED 1,315 SAFETY PLANS. HOUSING: THE MAIN OBJECTIVE OF DVAC'S SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS TO REDUCE THE RISK OF BECOMING HOMELESS FOR ISLAND FAMILIES HARMED BY ABUSE. APARTMENTS AND SHARED GROUP HOUSING IS AVAILABLE, WITH THE FULL ARRAY OF AGENCY SERVICES AVAILABLE TO THESE FAMILIES. FROM APRIL 2020 TO PRESENT, DVAC'S SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PROGRAM SERVICED 40 ADULTS AND 61 CHILDREN.


TAP808 OFFERS EDUCATION ABOUT TEEN RELATIONSHIP VIOLENCE, PROMOTES HEALTH RELATIONSHIPS, AND ALERTS YOUTH TO WARNING SIGNS OF RELATIONSHIP VIOLENCE. IN FY2022, TAP808 CONDUCTED 38 COMMUNITY/SCHOOL VISITS, DELIVERED 350 YOUTH PRESENTATIONS REACHING 3,660 YOUTH PARTICIPANTS, CONDUCTED 254 RISK ASSESSMENTS, AND COMPLETED 261 SAFETY PLANS.
