TO UNITE THROUGH OUR MEMBERSHIP THOSE PEOPLE OR GROUPS OF PEOPLE WITH A COMMON INTEREST IN DEVELOPING AND IMPROVING THE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL INTEREST OF THE FARMER.

POLICY DEVELOPMENT:IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE RANKIN COUNTY FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS, SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MONITORING COMMUNICATION WITH MEMBERS AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS. VOLUNTEER MEMBERS HOSTED A LEGISLATIVE RECEPTION TO EDUCATE AND VOICE CONCERNS WITH LEGISLATURES ABOUT AGRICULTURAL POLICIES. ALSO VOLUNTEERS ATTENDED AG DAY AT THE CAPITAL AND MEET WITH NATIONAL LEADERS.


YOUNG FARMER PROGRAM:THE YOUNG FARMERS & RANCHERS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO DEVELOP YOUNG PEOPLE INTO THE LEADERS THAT WILL SOMEDAY GUIDE FARM BUREAU. THE PROGRAM STRIVES TO EDUCATE YOUNG FARMERS, AGES 18-35, ABOUT THE PURPOSE AND FUNCTION OF FARM BUREAU, PROVIDE THEM WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE OF FARM BUREAU, AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO USE THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE TO HELP FORMULATE POLICIES AND PROGRAMS THAT CAN LEAD TO SOLUTIONS TO THEIR PROBLEMS. IN DECEMBER RANKIN COUNTY BOARD MEMBER BRIAN RHODES WON THE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD CONTEST.


COMMODITY MEETINGS:RANKIN COUNTY FARM BUREAU ENCOURAGES VOLUNTEER MEMBERS TO ATTEND LEADERSHIP, COMMODITY, CONVENTIONS AND CONFERENCES THAT HELP EDUCATE AND PROMOTE THE ORGANIZATIONS MISSION. AT THESE MEETING VOLUNTEERS DISCUSS ISSUES THAT HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE AGRICULTURAL INDUSTRY
