PIKE COUNTY FARM BUREAU'S BOARD MEMBERS ARE VERY ACTIVE IN THEIR COMMODITY PROGRAMS IN THE COUNTY AND STATE. THIS KEEPS THEM WELL INFORMED OF MARKET TRENDS HELPING THEM TO EDUCATE OTHER FARMERS ON NEW WAYS OF RAISING THEIR CROPS AS WELL AS THE ECONOMIC SIDE TO FARMING.


IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE PIKE COUNTY FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MONITORING COMMUNICATION WITH MEMBERS AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS. VOLUNTEER MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN YEARLY MEETINGS WITH LOCAL LEGISLATURES TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AGRICULTURAL POLICY.


PIKE COUNTY FARM BUREAU PARTICIPATES ANNUAL IN THE SAFETY PROGRAMS THAT ARE OFFERED THROUGH THE MISSISSIPPI FARM BUREAU FEDERATION. SEVERAL CPR AND FIRST AID CLASSES ARE TAUGHT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. FATAL VISION/TEXTING PROGRAMS, LAWN/TRACTOR SAFETY PROGRAMS ARE ALSO TAUGHT.
