PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAMS:IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE LEE COUNTY FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MONITORING, COMMUNICATION WITH MEMBERS, AND PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS. VOLUNTEER MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN YEARLY MEETINGS WITHSTATE LEGISLATURE TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AGRICULTURAL POLICY.


AGRICULTURE LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES:LEE COUNTY FARM BUREAU STRUCTURE OF ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROVIDES MANY OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBER LEADERS TO KEEP ABREAST OF ISSUES THAT AFFECT AGRICULTURE. LOCAL BOARD MEMBERS ATTENDED STATE CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS FOR EDUCATIONAL MEETINGS AND ISSUES FACING THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY


YOUNG FARMER PROGRAMLEE COUNTY FARM BUREAU MEMBERS ARE INVOLVED IN THE YOUNG FARMERS & RANCHERS PROGRAM. THIS PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO DEVELOP YOUNG PEOPLE INTO THE LEADERS THAT WILL SOMEDAY GUIDE FARM BUREAU. THE PROGRAM STRIVES TO EDUCATE YOUNG FARMERS, AGES 18-35, ABOUT THE PURPOSE AND FUNCTION OF FARM BUREAU, PROVIDE THEM WITH OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM STRUCTURE OF FARM BUREAU, AND ENCOURAGE THEM TO USE THEIR OWN KNOWLEDGE TO HELP FORMULATE POLICIES AND PROGRAMS THAT CAN LEAD TO SOLUTIONS TO THEIR PROBLEMS.
