PUBLIC POLICY PROGRAMS IN ORDER TO PROTECT & PROMOTE THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY THE MCMINN CO FARM BUREAU THROUGH ITS STRUCTURE OF VOLUNTEER LEADERS SUPPORTS PUBLIC POLICY EFFORTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE & NATIONAL LEVEL. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH BOTH LEGISLATIVE & REGULATORY MONITORING, COMMUNICATIONS WITH MEMBERS, PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS ABOUT FARMING & RURAL LIFE, & PROVIDING INFORMATION ABOUT THE AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY. VOLUNTEER BOARD MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN THE SPONSORSHIP OF MEET THE CANDIDATE ACTIVITIES & YEARLY POLICY MEETINGS WITH THEIR LEGISLATORS TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT AG POLICY & HOW THE INDUSTRY IS IMPACTED BY LAWMAKERS.

LEADERS ATTEND DISTRICT, STATE & NATIONAL CONFERENCES TO NETWORK WITH FARMERS & OTHER AGRICULTURALISTS TO LEARN ABOUT CURRENT ISSUES FACING AGRICULTURE. A HIGHLY DEVELOPED COMMITTEE STRUCTURE PROVIDES LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS THROUGH MEETINGS, REGULAR COMMUNICATIONS, AND AGRICULTURAL ACTIVITIES.


YOUTH LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT MCMINN COUNTY FARM BUREAU SUPPORTS YOUTH AG ORGANZIATIONS BOTH FINANCIALLY AND WITH VOLUNTEER HOURS. THE MCMINN COUNTY FARM BUREAU IS A PRIMARY SPONSOR OF THE 4-H AND FFA MEMBER APPRECIATION DAY BY PROVIDING A DONATION AND VOLUNTEER HOURS. THE MCMINN COUNTY FARM BUREAU ALSO SPONSORS A FARM DAY AT A LOCAL FARM WHERE 4TH GRADE STUDENTS COME AND SEE WHAT GOES ON EVERYDAY ON A FARM AND HOW IMPORTANT AGRICULTURE IS TO EVERYDAY LIFE.
