SENIOR RESOURCE CENTER FOR DOUGLAS COUNTY PROVIDES SENIOR WHEELS (PROVIDING OVER 8,000 AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE RIDES TO SENIORS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS ANNUALLY).
SENIOR RESOURCE CENTER FOR DOUGLAS COUNTY PROVIDES BOTH DIRECT AND INDIRECT SERVICES FOR SENIORS AND THEIR FAMILIES THROUGHOUT DOUGLAS COUNTY, KS TO SUPPORT THEIR BEST QUALITY OF LIFE DURING THE SECOND HALF OF LIFE. COMMUNITY SERVICES PROGRAMS INCLUDE: MEDICARE COUNSELING AND PART D ENROLLMENT (ASSISTING OVER 1,000 SENIORS ANNUALLY AS THE AREA'S CONTRACTED SHICK PROVIDER), INFORMATION REFERRAL FOR INDIVIDUALS NAVIGATING THE CHANGES WHICH OCCUR UPON RETIREMENT OR AS THEY AGE, AND PARTICIPATION ACTIVITIES INTENDED TO INCREASE ENGAGEMENT, SOCIALIZATION, EDUCATION AND RECREATION FOR ALL SENIORS.
