MOLLIE SPENCER FARMS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT PROMOTE ANIMAL WELL-BEING, SUPPORT REGIONAL HISTORY, AND CELEBRATE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY PRIDE IN YUKON, OKLAHOMA.

Part 3 - Line 4a

IN 2022, SEVERAL COFFEE CONVERSATION EVENTS FEATURING LOCAL SPEAKERS WERE HELD ON TOPICS INCLUDING GARDENING THROUGH THE SEASONS, EQUINE FOSTERING, AND BEEKEEPING. SEVERAL NEW EVENTS WERE HELD ON THE FARM, INCLUDING A FALL OPEN HOUSE AND A MONARCH FESTIVAL. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OKLAHOMA CITY AUDUBON SOCIETY, BIRD WALKS TOOK PLACE ON THE FARM, INCLUDING TWO WALKS AIMED AT BEGINNERS DURING WHICH OCAS MEMBERS GUIDED ATTENDEES AND TAUGHT THEM ABOUT PROPER BINOCULAR USE AND LISTENING FOR BIRD CALLS. THE ANNUAL EASTER ON THE PRAIRIE, STIRLING CLASSIC, AND CHISHOLM TRAIL FESTIVALS WERE HELD AND SAW LARGE NUMBER OF ATTENDEES. WORK CONTINUED ON A SHORT FILM PROJECT THAT WILL GIVE AN OVERVIEW OF MOLLIE SPENCERS LIFE AND THE CURRENT MISSION AND PROGRAMMING ON THE PRESENT-DAY FARM. IN AUGUST, TWO LONGHORNS CAME TO THE FARM FROM A RANCH IN ARDMORE AS PART OF A REHOMING PROJECT. ADDITIONALLY, THE MOLLIE SPENCER FARM CONTINUES TO PROVIDE RESIDENCE TO SHEEP, DONKEYS, COWS, FOSTER HORSES, AND HONEYBEES ON THE PROPERTY.
