SOUTHEASTERN NORTH CAROLINA WATERFOWL: SIG-NAL BEGAN A NEW PROJECT FUNDED BY A PRIVATE FOUNDATION THAT IS WORKING WITH A UNIVERSITY IN DELAWARE TO RESEARCH AND STUDY THE GREEN-WINGED TEAL'S WINTERING HABITAT USE, MOVEMENT, AND BIOENERGETICS IN COASTAL NORTH CAROLINA.


GREEN ECONOMY SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATION - SIG-NAL IS PARTNERING WITH USAID/RDMA, USFS, AND UN FAO TO EXAMINE THE CARBON POOLS, BOTH SINKS AND SOURCES, ON LANDS THAT HAVE LIKELY HAD A LOSS OF FOREST COVER AND SIMULTANEOUS REPLACEMENT BY AGRICULTURAL LAND USES. WE ARE INVENTORYING LAND USES IN REGIONS EXPERIENCING LOSS OF FOREST COVER AND SUMMARIZING LOCAL CARBON BUDGETS ASSOCIATED WITH THE IDENTIFIED PREDOMINANT AGRICULTURAL COMMODITY PRODUCTION SYSTEMS.
