PUBLIC POLICY THE COMPANY WAS INFLUENTIAL FOR PUBLIC POLICY AFFECTING THEIR MEMBERS. DURING THE YEAR, THE POLICY IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE MET WITH STATE SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE SESSION TO ADVOCATE FOR AGRICULTURE. MEMBERS ALSO COMMUNICATED WITH THEIR ELECTED OFFICIALS DURING THE YEAR ON ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE ORGANIZATIONS AND ITS 4,700 MEMBERS. THE COMPANYS BOARD OF DIRECTORS MET WITH THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS DURING THE YEAR TO DISCUSS LOCAL ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE ORGANIZATION, ITS MEMBERS AND THE COMMUNITY. LEADERS ATTENDED VIRTUAL WEEKEND TOWN HALL MEETINGS TO CONNECT WITH LEGISLATORS ABOUT PRIORITY ISSUES. THE COMPANY TOOK PART IN FORMING STATE-WIDE POLICY BY RAISING LOCAL ISSUES, DISTRIBUTING OPINIONNAIRE TO MEMBERS AND CRAFTING POLICY STATEMENTS REFLECTING THE VIEWS OF THE COMPANYS MEMBERS.
