PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS IN THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA

UNALLOCATED EXPENSES INCLUDING EMPLOYEE COSTS, OTHER PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES: SDFB SERVES 40 UNITS OF INDIVIDUAL OR COMBINED COUNTIES. THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR THE COUNTY UNITS IN WORK WITH LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL AGENCIES ON ISSUES RELATING TO AGRICULTURE PRODUCTION. THIS INCLUDES REGULATORY REVIEW AND COMPLIANCE, CARRYING OUT SDFB POLICY, OBJECTIVES AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS TO CARRY OUT GRASS ROOT POLICIES AT THE STATE LEGISLATURE. THE ORGANIZATION KEEPS MEMBERSHIP INFORMED ON LEGISLATIVE ISSUES THAT WOULD HAVE AN EFFECT ON RURAL SOUTH DAKOTA. ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE MEASURED BY MEMBERSHIP GROWTH AND POLICY DEVELOPMENT AS THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF RURAL SOUTH DAKOTA.


DIRECT EXPENSES - WORKSHOPS, CONVENTION AND AG RELATED COMMITTEES: THROUGH THESE ACTIVIVITIES THE ORGANIZATION 1) PROVIDED INFORMATIONAL ACTIVITIES TO EDUCATE, ENERGIZE AND EMPOWER OUR RURAL MEMBERSHIP 2) CONDUCTED LEADERSHIP TRAINING 3) PROVIDED PRODUCTION AND MARKETING INFORMATION 4) PROVIDED REGULATORY COMPLIANCE UPDATES. THE AG RELATED COMMITTEES PROVIDE A CONDUIT FOR BOOTS ON THE GROUND UP TO THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF PRODUCTION PRACTICES.


DIRECT EXPENSES - SUBSCRIPTION & MEMBERSHIP PROMOTION: THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES INFORMATION AND PROMOTION TO ITS MEMBERSHIP AND OTHERS THROUGH ITS PRINT PUBLICATION, WEBSITE, SOCIAL MEDIA AND SPONSORSHIPS OF EVENTS. THE ORGANIZTION SUPPORTS COUNTY UNITS PROMOTION OF ITS BRAND AT LOCAL COUNTY EVENTS, WHEREBY THE COUNTY UNITS TELL AGRICULTURES STORY TO THE NONFARM CONSUMER THROUGH VOICE MEDIA.
