THE ORGANIZATION IS A PRIVATE NON-PROFIT CORPORATION PROVIDING BOTH SPECIALIZED AND INTENSIVE LONG AND SHORT TERM VOCATIONAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES. THESE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND/OR THOSE EXPERIENCING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. THE ORGANIZATION WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1966 AND IS GOVERNED BY A VOLUNTEER COMMUNITY OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED SPECIALIZED AND INTENSIVE LONG AND SHORT-TERM VOCATIONAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES AND/OR THOSE EXPERIENCING BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. ALL DISABILITIES ARE SERVED REGARDLESS OF RACE, CREED, COLOR, SEX, AGE, RELIGION OR NATIONAL ORIGIN. THE ORGANIZATION WORKS COOPERATIVELY WITH ALL GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAMS, SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS, SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES, AND EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES. AMONG THE PROVIDED WERE: 1. VOCATIONAL EVALUATION THROUGH PSYCHOMETRIC TESTING, WORK SAMPLE TESTS, AND ACTUAL WORK WHICH THE CENTER ACQUIRES THROUGH SUB-CONTRACTS WITH INDUSTRIES AND AREA BUSINESSES. 2. WORK ADJUSTMENT TRAINING THROUGH PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, JOB SEEKING SKILLS, JOB RETENTION SKILLS AND WORK BEHAVIOR TRAINING. 3. JOB PLACEMENT AND ON THE JOB FOLLOW-UP BY AN SVC PLACEMENT COUNSELOR. 4. WORK RELATED SERVICES WITHIN THE CENTER FOR SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS. 5. DAILY LIVING SKILLS PROVIDING ASSESSMENT AND EDUCATIONAL TRAINING IN COMMUNITY LIVING SKILLS AND 6. SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT ASSISTED DISABLE INDIVIDUALS TO FUNCTION VACATIONALLY IN THE COMMUNITY.
