THE NORTH STAR HISTORIC CONSERVANCY WAS FORMED TO RESTORE MAINTAIN AND OPERATE THE NORTH STAR HISTORIC DISTRICT MORE THAN 14 ACRES OF NEVADA COUNTY'S MINING HERITAGE AND THE NORTH STAR HOUSE LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES.

Part 3 - Line 4a

ONGOING RESTORATION REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF NORTH STAR HOUSE PROVIDED BY SKILLED VOLUNTEERS AND LOCAL PROFESSIONALS. CONTINUED RESTORATION OF MARY HALLOCK FOOTE'S OFFICE INCLUDING SOME SPECIALIZED WORK ON THE WINDOWS FINISHING WITH COUNTERBALANCING WITH ORIGINAL NSH HARDWARE AND ADDITIONAL PARTS FROM A 1905 HOUSE IN ALABAMA. CONTINUED RESTORATION OF THE LIBRARY AND THE LIVING ROOM ESPECIALLY CEILINGS AND WALLS. CONTINUED ELECTRICAL WORK THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE. SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS IN CLEARING THE 2ND FLOOR IN PREPARATION FOR RESTORATION. FURNACE REPLACED INSTALLATION OF WALL TV FOR SHARING HISTORY IN JULIA MORGAN ROOM.


CONTINUED MAINTENANCE OF THE NORTH STAR GROUNDS INCLUDING SIGNIFICANT CLEARING TREE TRIMMING AND OTHER FIRE SUPPRESSION WORK. PUMP REPLACED IN HERITAGE GARDEN MORE WORK ON IRRIGATION SYSTEMS REMOVAL OF OLD CONCRETE ON SIDE OF NORTH TERRACE IN PREPARATION FOR REPAIRING BRICK WORK RESTORING AND EXPANDING PATIO.
