THE MISSION OF THE HOWARD AREA COMMUNITY CENTER IS TO ASSIST LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN AND NEAR ROGERS PARK TO STABILIZE THEIR LIVES AND DEVELOP THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO BECOME PRODUCTIVE COMMUNITY MEMBERS. OUR PROGRAMS OFFER EMERGENCY INTERVENTION, HELP FAMILIES STABILIZE, AND ENCOURAGE DEVELOPMENTAL GROWTH.

Part 3 - Line 4a

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION - ASSISTING TEENAGE PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN, AGES 0-3. HELPING STRENGTHEN PARENTING SKILLS THROUGH HOME VISITS, EDUCATION SESSIONS AND SUPPORT GROUPS.


EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES - PROVIDING BASIC SKILLS CLASSES TO ADULTS AND TEENS IN PREPARING FOR ACQUIRING THEIR HIGH-SCHOOL DIPLOMA. COURSES IN ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE ARE ALSO PART OF THIS PROGRAM.


YOUTH SERVICES - INCLUDES AFTER SCHOOL ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT, WORKSHOPS ON LIFE AND SOCIAL SKILLS, EMPLOYMENT-RELATED SERVICES, RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES, AND A FULL-DAY SUMMER CAMP.


HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES - PROVIDES EMERGENCY SERVICES, CASE MANAGEMENT, AND OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES TO ENCOURAGE SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY.
