TO GROW AND SUSTAIN THE ECONOMY OF SAN DIEGO NORTH COUNTY THROUGH ATTRACTION AND RETENTION OF BUSINESS GROUPS, AS WELL AS NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT.

DURING 2023 SAN DIEGO NORTH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL (SDNEDC) DIRECTLY OUTREACHED AND WORKED WITH 62 EXISTING COMPANIES AND FIELDED REQUESTS FROM 31 COMPANIES FROM OUTSIDE THE REGION. THE COUNCIL HELD 6 SEPARATE BUSINESS EDUCATION AND NETWORKING EVENTS ATTENDED BY MORE THAN 1,100 NORTH COUNTY LEADERS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CARRIED OUT SEVERAL EARNED AND SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING CAMPAIGNS, RESULTING IN MORE THAN 180,000 IMPRESSIONS AND TOUCH POINTS WITH AUDIENCES INTERESTED IN SAN DIEGO NORTH COUNTY NEWS. THE COUNCIL ALSO CONTINUED TO SUPPORT SOCAL" - STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAREER AWARENESS AND LEARNING. SOCAL IS A COLLABORATIVE PROGRAM BETWEEN EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY CREATED BY TRI-CITY MEDICAL CENTER, THE SAN DIEGO NORTH ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL AND CARLSBAD, OCEANSIDE, VISTA, GREATER ESCONDIDO, SAN MARCOS AND ENCINITAS CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE. THE VISION IS TO GIVE MIDDLE SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL, POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS AND TRANSITIONING ADULTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO GAIN INSIGHTS INTO CAREER PATHWAYS, WHILE ALLOWING BUSINESSES AND LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE STUDENTS CAREER EXPLORATION.THE COUNCIL ALSO EXPANDED ITS RESEARCH SERVICES, PRODUCING 9 NEW REPORTS ON A VARIETY OF TOPICS AND CARRIED OUT 2 ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDIES FOR LOCAL BUSINESSES.
